SUMMARY

  • Alleged assault at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge captured on camera
  • Mahomes' attorney contends they possess evidence refuting the accusations
  • Incident occurred shortly after Mahomes' family celebrated Super Bowl win

A prominent social media personality, Mahomes, has found himself in the middle of a controversy, accused of inappropriately touching and trying to kiss a 40-year-old restaurant owner in Overland Park, Kansas. The owner of Aspens Restaurant and Lounge claims that Mahomes, in a seemingly intoxicated state, attempted to touch and kiss her without consent on February 25th. The ordeal also involved him shoving a waiter. Fortunately, the restaurant's security cameras caught the entire incident.

The footage quickly gained traction online, showing a man grabbing a woman's face for an unsolicited kiss near a desk in what appears to be an office. The woman wipes her mouth, but the man continues his advances, grabbing her near the throat. She later told TMZ, "He forcibly kissed me out of nowhere." Police have been investigating the case since March.

Mahomes made a brief appearance in court on May 3rd, with his next court date scheduled for May 11th. In the meantime, he is prohibited from drinking alcohol, using firearms or drugs, and commenting on the case or the accuser. His attorney, Brandan Davies, claims they have ample evidence to prove Mahomes' innocence.

Interestingly, just two weeks before the incident, Mahomes was enjoying the Super Bowl with his family in Glendale, Arizona. His brother Patrick secured his second Super Bowl win, as the Chiefs defeated the Eagles, 38-35. It's quite the shift from celebration to scandal!
