Twitter has made further cuts to its staff overseeing content moderation and handling hate speech and harassment, according to a report by Bloomberg News.

The cuts, which took place on Friday night, affected workers in the company's Dublin and Singapore offices and included Nur Azhar Bin Ayob, the head of site integrity for the Asia-Pacific region, and Analuisa Dominguez, Twitter's senior director of revenue policy.

In addition to these individuals, workers on teams handling policy on misinformation, global appeals, and state media were also eliminated.

In response to the report, Twitter's vice president of trust and safety, Ella Irwin, confirmed that the company made some cuts to its trust and safety team on Friday night, but did not provide any further details.

Irwin stated that "we have thousands of people within Trust and Safety who work content moderation and have not made cuts to the teams that do that work daily." She added that some of the cuts were made in areas that lacked sufficient volume going forward or where it made sense to consolidate.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Twitter has made significant cuts to its staff. In November of last year, the company laid off approximately 3,700 employees as a cost-cutting measure. In the aftermath of these layoffs, hundreds of additional employees resigned from the company. In addition, Twitter was hit with a lawsuit last month alleging that the social media platform disproportionately targeted female employees in its layoffs.
