After a heated exchange on social media, Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia are gearing up to bring their rivalry to a boiling point in the ring.

Come chill with us as we get the lowdown on Gervonta Davis's game plan for his next big fight. On April 22nd, undefeated lightweight champs Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia are set to throw down at the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas, with the whole world watching on pay-per-view.

Our main man Gervonta ain't just a boxing sensation; he's making waves in urban culture, from fashion to hip hop. Recently, Complex dropped some content featuring Gervonta chatting about a slightly offbeat subject - family. When asked if his fam would be at the fight, Davis was like, "Nah, leave the kids and lady at home."

Gervonta's been grinding away at his training camp in Vegas, and he's more focused than ever. In previous fights, he's been distracted by celeb sightings and family interactions, but not this time. Our boy is bringing his A-game. As he put it, "Let the men handle business. Even my mom's staying home."

As the epic showdown approaches, Gervonta and Ryan are showing each other mad respect. With just days to go before the mega-fight, Davis got real with the interviewer: "It can get ugly. This is strictly business on both sides. This is a 50-50 fight."

In November, both fighters declared their intentions to face off, but various hurdles including contract negotiations, broadcasting rights, and rematch clauses delayed the bout. Now, with DAZN and Showtime set to present the fight in PPV format, all obstacles have been cleared.

Davis, a 2012 Golden Gloves champion and multi-division titleholder, began his professional journey in 2013. He captured the WBA (Regular) lightweight title against Yuriorkis Gamboa in 2019, and his most recent victory was a TKO win over Hector Luis Garcia in January.

In order to secure this fight, Davis faced and overcame a legal hurdle. The boxer, known as "Tank," pleaded guilty to four traffic offenses related to a hit-and-run incident in November 2020. Although a judge rejected his plea agreement, Davis will be sentenced on May 5, and the outcome will not impact the Garcia fight.

On the other side, Garcia launched his professional career in 2016. The 24-year-old phenom defeated Luke Campbell in 2021 to claim the interim WBC lightweight title. He took a brief hiatus to focus on his mental health and recover from hand surgery before returning to the ring in April, triumphing over Emmanuel Tagoe via unanimous decision.

Garcia's last bout saw him claim a TKO victory against Javier Fortuna in July. Boasting 19 knockout wins, he opted to skip a January fight to concentrate on his face-off with Davis.

As a catchweight fight, Davis' lightweight title hangs in the balance, and only he can invoke a rematch clause should he taste defeat. This highly anticipated clash promises to be a thrilling spectacle that will have boxing enthusiasts on the edge of their seats.
