Southwest Airlines Sued for Refusal to Issue Refunds After Chaotic Meltdown

BY WOM

Passenger Eric Capdeville has filed a class action lawsuit against Southwest Airlines, alleging that the company breached its contract with passengers by refusing to provide refunds following a winter storm that caused widespread disruptions and cancellations. Capdeville claims that Southwest offered only travel credits to him and his daughter after cancelling their flight to Portland, Oregon, and that the airline has not properly compensated affected passengers for expenses incurred as a result of the disruptions. Southwest has stated that it is working to process refunds and reimburse affected passengers, but the lawsuit is ongoing. The case is Capdeville v Southwest Airlines Co, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, No. 22-05590.
